At our nursery we are committed to reducing the use of one-use plastics.  For us this means no disposable nappies.  It's estimated that a baby will go through 6,000 to 7,000 nappies in the first 2 and a half years of its life and in the UK alone 3.6 billion used nappies will end up in landfill.  In addition cloth nappies  have a 25% lower carbon footprint than one-use nappies and this can improve to 40% if you dry them without the use of a tumble dryer as we do at nursery.
